Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father is from an ethnically Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder relocated together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family resided in an area without electricity. Ryder who read a lot at the age of 12, became a bookworm because Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role on the screen in Lucas. Ryder was bullied throughout her time in high school. Ryder hoped her acting career would change the way she dealt with bullying. But it wasn't to come to pass. However, she pushed on with her goal. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major break. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in a variety of films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated in the Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
